About UsOur MissionThe Ridley Club of Greater Washington (TRCGW) is an organization of University of Virginia alumni, students, family and friends committed to engaging the Greater Washington area community in the life of the University. By providing support for The University and The Ridley Fund, The Ridley Club of Greater Washington looks to capitalize on the large number of African-American alumni in the area. Through social networking, educational outreach to prospective students and aggressive fundraising, TRCGW hopes to give back to the UVA community and the Greater Washington area what The University provided us. "This is an exciting time to be part of The Ridley Club of Greater Washington! What an opportunity to assist in shaping an organization that will help bring the next generation of African-American youth to UVA! And what an appropriate way for me to give back to the institution that helped make me the person I am today ... provided the academic structure I needed to start my own business, ignited my volunteer spirit through organizations such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Madison House, brought me friends who continue to enrich my life, introduced me to my wonderful husband, and helped teach me life lessons I need to raise my three beautiful children ... all this in four short years.
