Bernard D. Mayes Award

To recognize alumni who contribute positively to LGBT causes both within the University community and beyond, the Serpentine Society created an award in honor of Bernard Mayes, former Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, for his lifetime support of LGBT students at the University. The Mayes Award is presented each year at the Serpentine Society’s Fall Weekend event, which takes place during Homecoming Weekend.
