The UVA MedConnect program provides students with the opportunity to interact in unique ways with local alumni and physicians who are not members of the UVA faculty. 

Students will learn about non-academic medicine, special interests such as private practice administration, details of the various specialties and sub-specialties available, and information relevant to making informed career choices. Most importantly, they will forge mutually-beneficial relationships with the mentor volunteers that may lead to additional opportunities, such as shadowing, clinical rotations and future career placement. 

The MedConnect program also involves an annual anchor event featuring a networking reception open to all physician volunteers, as well as a small panel of alumni volunteers to lead break-out sessions according to specialty.

All medical alumni and physicians from the Charlottesville area are invited to participate in UVA MedConnect.
