John Vowles House

The John Vowles House was built in 1824 and is thought to be the oldest building on West Main Street. Help us preserve our headquarters through the Foundation for the Future campaign.

The University of Virginia Medical School Foundation, established in 1972, exists as the financial arm of the University of Virginia Medical Alumni Association.  Its mission is to receive, invest, manage and disburse funds for the express purpose of maintaining and constantly improving the state of excellence of the University of Virginia School of Medicine. The Trustees and Officers promote a climate that empowers those with whom we serve, while stewarding our human and financial resources.

The Mac Roy Gasque, M.D., Medical Alumni Association Headquarters is located at 1111 West Main Street. With its small, full-time staff, the Association sponsors Medical Alumni Reunion Weekend and the annual Medical Alumni Meeting. In addition, it publishes the Medical AlumNews magazine, and an alumni directory, and assists medical students with loans, scholarships, the annual Match Day Reception, White Coat Presentation and Parents Day.
