Email Forwarding

Lifetime Email Forwarding establishes a permanent “alumni.virginia.edu” email forwarding address that sends messages to your personal or business email account. Lifetime Email Forwarding allows you to maintain a consistent email address regardless of how many times you change the email account where you receive, read and respond to email. Just establish your forwarding address and register your personal email account in the HoosOnline Lifetime Email Forwarding section and you will receive all mail sent to your Lifetime Email Forwarding address.

For example,

If your HoosOnline Login Name is: mst3k, HoosOnline will assign you a lifetime email forwarding address of mst3k@alumni.virginia.edu.

Let’s assume you have a personal email account with the address mst3k@Yahoo.com that you have registered to receive mail sent to your Lifetime Email Forwarding address.

Then mail addressed to mst3k@alumni.virginia.edu will be forwarded to mst3k@Yahoo.com.

If you would prefer to select an alias more memorable than your Login Name to serve as the prefix for your lifetime email forwarding address (alias@alumni.virginia.edu), you may select one in the Email Forwarding section of HoosOnline.

Please note: Lifetime Email Forwarding is not an email or Internet account that stores mail so you can read and respond to it. It simply forwards email to such an email account that you maintain elsewhere.
